Futureproofed Workshop #20: Going Pro with Pash Seductive
In this workshop, award winning adult industry videographer Pash Seductive teaches you about working for commercial porn companies
In 2025 Pash Seductive held a workshop talking about the mysterious world of commercial porn. Although the workshop was originally in person, the content has been converted here as best we can.
How to successfully contact porn companies
Research, research, research!
Find contact emails on sites, if not find out who directs for that company and contact them.
Be succinct, professional, and mention any relevant experience. Link your socials and attach appropriate images.
Don’t be afraid to follow up once.
Treat your correspondence as you would any other job.
What to expect from mainstream porn
ON THE DAY
Everyone will see your real name and test results. Your ID will be photographed.
You and your scene partner(s) will go over consent together and with the director.
It will be very stop start.
You may not know how many people will be on set that day.
Times may blow out.
AFTER THE SET
You may need to pay to see the content you shot/
The content will be on tube sites, twitter, affiliates. This 100% includes explicit acts.
How to be safe
Always ensure you can see (and swap) your tests. You do not need to accept an out of date test.
You do not need to do any act to further your career. You can be equally successful doing only A or never doing B.
If the company is produce performer, as in, one man crew with POV camera, be sure to: VET VET VET. Are they legit? This is what you vet to find out
Bring your own lube .
If things feel off - walk out.
How to find an agent
Some of the largest companies are: Nikki’s models, Jul models, East Coast Talent.
Research, research, research.
Shop around if possible.
Find other talent represented - are they successful?
You do not need an agent, self booking is an option.
Agencies take a cut and are always looking for a “rising star.”
Porn Hierarchy: Staggering your image
Red Flags on a Porn Set
Shit talking other talent on set.
Director not asking for sexual boundaries/no list.
Requesting drastic changes in sexual performance once cameras are rolling or not discussing sexual acts prior.
Any aggression whatsoever.
Overt (not encouraging) sexual talk.
Touchy directors.
Directors encouraging sexual acts between performers off camera.
Green Flags on a Porn Set
Transparent and professional correspondence.
Private space provided to get dressed.
Time given to read over paperwork.
Consent talks prioritised.
Having explicit drugs/alcohol policies.
Things to be aware of
Unless explicitly stated otherwise, you cannot post this content on your own sites.
You will not be able to remove your porn from the internet - or even from companies.
Be wary of companies that brand themselves as “ethical”.
There is always a chance of your co-performer being switched out at the last minute.
Model houses.
Your hygiene.
Please note, Pash’s second workshop “Professional Content Creation: Nose to Tail” was an interactive in person workshop that cannot be future proofed as it did not include slides. This blog is a substitute for both workshops.
